Jingjing came to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign to pursue a Ph.D. in the Department of Educational Psychology's Cognitive Science of Teaching and Learning Division. She developed an interest in collaborative discussions and students’ oral English development when she was the leader of the Oral English Association in college. Jingjing's current research focuses on leadership in children’s collaborative reasoning groups. Particularly, she wants to see how children understand the concept of leadership and whether successful small group learning depends on the leadership of the group as they work together in small groups.
