Center for the Study of Reading

Research

The Center for the Study of Reading is currently pursuing two major projects. A joint project with psychologists at Beijing Normal University, Learning to Read Chinese examines young Chinese children's morphological and phonological awareness to improve reading instruction in classrooms across China. The Collaborative Reasoning Project investigates the social and cognitive processes involved in children's development of reasoning to promote higher level literacy for American school children.
